Hello, my dear friends!
Ivan is here and today I want to tell you about the mushrooms and how are they connected with weight loss!
For centuries belarussians have been using mushrooms as a food. All generations of my family were living near forests so it was obvious to use the stuff that forest suggests.
And you know what? Belarussians have always been skinny. Not just because of mushrooms, no, but because of right feeding patterns and quality of food. Even the process of harvesting have always been a part of food philosophy.
In this post I want to highlight the main points about harvesting mushrooms and preparation of meals with mushrooms.
Usually, when we are talking about mushrooms we have in mind the ones that can be bought in the supermarket and more often it is champignones. But there are a lot of another species of tasty mushrooms that could be used as a food. Usually I do collect only three types:
- Brown-cap boletus
- Orange-cap boletus
This three are the most preferable and has a great taste. It could be stewed, fried, salted, canned or dryed.
It is well known that mushrooms are the great source of protein. Often grouped with vegetables, mushrooms provide many of the nutritional attributes of produce, as well as attributes more commonly found in meat, beans or grains. Mushrooms are low in calories, fat-free, cholesterol-free, gluten-free, and very low in sodium, yet they provide important nutrients, including selenium, potassium (8%), riboflavin, niacin, vitamin D and more.
For whole the time I remember myself, mushrooms have always been a part of my family table. In autumn, it was fresh, fried with onion and potato ones, in the winter, it was canned, served with fresh onion, pepper and sunflower oil. Today, when the supermarkets are on every corner, mushrooms became mostly a delicacy, than a general food, but they are still stayed the part of family table.
Thank you for being with me for a whole post!
